Special Events

In addition to our acclaimed productions, Book-It curates a variety of special events from the deliciously decadent Guilty Pleasures, to the celebratory breakfast in support of its arts and education programs, and many more. Watch this page; new additions are made regularly.

Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt has now adapted and directed two novels by author David James Duncan: The River Why (Book-It 2010) and now, The Brothers K. Join us for this Meeting of the Minds as these two powerhouse artists interview one another in an on-stage chat about their respective methods of storytelling.

Sunday, May 22, 11:30am at the Center Theatre at the Armory (where the stage will be all dressed up for The Brothers K). Seating is limited. Tickets for this fundraising event are $50. The no-host concessions bar will be stocked with baseball-related snacks in honor of our great American pastime.

For tickets, click or call 206-216-0833.

A BIG thanks to all who joined us March 12, 2016 at the swanky W Hotel in downtown Seattle for Book-It’s Annual Gala. All proceeds benefit Book-It’s mainstage and education programming. Bringing Books to Life Fundraising Breakfast

Our annual Bringing Books to Life Breakfast, October 22, 2015, raised more than $30,000 to fund our touring stories, in-class residencies, teacher training, and local events. Last year we reached 60,000 students and educators throughout Washington State with Book-It programming. We are so grateful for our community’s support of our literacy work in schools.
