Book-It loves its Volunteers, and we have plenty you can help out with!
Book-It's Volunteers and Interns contribute to our success as we pursue or mission of transforming great literature into great theatre through simple and sensitive production and to inspiring its audiences to read. To the extent we can, we will work with your availability and match your interests to the tasks at hand. Assistance is generally needed in the following areas:
Ushering: ushers arrive one hour prior to performance and will assist House Manager in light duties, which may include tearing tickets, handing out programs, helping people to their seats, selling concession items, and cleaning up the theatre after the show.
All volunteer ushers are guaranteed a seat for the show they usher. In the event the show is sold out and no seats are available for the date you are ushering, you will be issued a comp ticket to attend a different performance of the same show. Download 2009-10 Volunteer Usher Guidelines | PDF
Administration: projects may include assisting the Marketing or Education Departments in assembling mailings and or informational packets, advertisement materials distribution, or other light projects. Please let us know if you have special skills or areas of interest.
Special Events: assist with fund raising events and functions for our donors--help to set up and serve food and wine, or break down following the event.
Production: Assisting in construction or strike of the set (some light lifting is involved).
